Obituary

Francis “Frank” Loiselle was born in Somerset, Massachusetts on Jan 3rd 1944. He lost his battle with Covid-19 on October 14th 2020 in Gainesville, Fl. He was holding the hand of his beloved wife Mary Loiselle.

Frank grew up at the St Vincent’s home in Fall River with his sister Elly, and spent many weekends and summers with his grandparents Alfred and Alpheda Loiselle. He was a wonderful musician, playing the guitar and singing in several bands.

He enlisted in the Army in 1961 serving nearly eight years before being honorably discharged and starting a family. During his time in the Army, he served as a field medic completing tours in Germany and Vietnam. During his Army career he earned the Combat Medic’s badge, was awarded the Bronze Star for his Vietnam Service, and received a Purple Heart for wounds received in combat. It was later in life that he met and married his best friend and soulmate Mary. Frank loved connecting with people and making them laugh. Following his retirement from Lowe’s, he lived his “best life,” enjoying cruising, smoking barbecue, music festivals, and camping in his RV.

Frank was a beloved husband and father. He is survived by his wife Mary, his sister Elly Medeiros and brother Ernest Loiselle, his children Dan Loiselle, Paige Warneken, Nicole Van Looveren and Chad Loiselle, his stepchildren Fred, Eddie and Melissa Peacock, his grandchildren Caitlin Zohdi, Colleen Kowalski, and Kryslin Peacock.

Frank loved and was loved by many. He is also survived by a host of extended family including sons and daughters in-laws, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, stepchildren, step grandchildren, siblings he met later in life and so many friends he considered family.

He will be greatly missed.

A service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, Florida 33513.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in his name to the Disabled Veterans Charitable Service Trust (www.DAV.org).

Flowers may be sent to the Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, 11250 SW 93rd Ct. Rd., Ste. 300, Ocala, FL 34481.

Due to the cemetery’s limit on the number of visitors, only family and close friends will be permitted at the service. A reception will be held following the ceremony at Silo Oaks, 4103 County Road 526, Sumterville, FL 33585. All are welcome.

Nicole, you have always been a very inclusive person and you always make me feel part of your family. Because of that I got to know Frank Loiselle. He was one of the friendliest people I ever met and he was such a good Dad to you. I know there was a period when you two were not in each other's lives so it was especially meaningful the time you spent with each other and I am grateful to have shared some of those moments with you. I will miss seeing him at your home when I come over, joining you all on camping trips, and having lots of laughs at your parties.
It really doesn't feel fair at all that he was taken so suddenly by covid after having survived so many other life threatening experiences in life. I'm sending lots of love and light to you all as you come to terms with the loss of this special man. Rest in peace, Frank. You've earned it.

Frank was my grandfather and someone I loved very dearly. When I think of him, I will remember a strong, kind man who was living his retirement to its fullest. He would always be cooking for us or playing games with us. I remember whenever we played quirkle, he conveniently forgot how to play and needed help. Many times he would end up winning. Frank was so fun to be around and I’ll miss him dearly.

Frank, Man we’re still trying to process this news. You were a good man and your love of life was contagious. We are so thankful for the meals, conversations, advice, and your yelling at Alexa that you and Mary were kind enough to share with us. We are even more thankful for the fun times to have been able to sing along with you while you were strumming your guitar. We are missing you man. Give em hell up there! Condolences to lovely Mary we love you and to the families. We lost a good one
