Obituary
Frank S. Capodanno Jr. of The Villages Florida passed away peacefully on October 18 at the age of 91.
Frank was born on July 17, 1931, to Frank and Rose (Simeone) Capodanno and welcomed by his sister Rose in Newton, Massachusetts. After he graduated from Newton High School in 1949, he earned a Bachelor of Science from the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point New York, class of 53b.
Frank served in the US Navy where he was stationed out of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. After his naval service, Frank took a job at Bethlehem Steel in Quincy, Massachusetts. There, he met the love of his life Joan Connor. Frank married his beloved Joan in April 1962.
Frank is survived by Joan, and children Beth (Mejia), Doug, John, and Jill (Petrie), and his ten grandsons Nick, Jack, Jay, Sam, Charlie, Maxx, Dante, Nate, Harry and Christian. He was preceded in his death by his parents and sister Rose.
Frank was an avid golfer whose later years with Joan were spent in the Villages where they made many life-long friends. He loved reading, music, golf, and traveling (to other golf courses). Frank will rest easy knowing his beloved Red Sox finally reversed the curse. Papa had an infectious smile, a song in his heart, and a deep love and pride for his family, especially his grandsons.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice & Palliative Care.
