Obituary

February 24th, 2024, Frederick “Marty” Martin Roberts, went home to be with the Lord. He was a devoted husband to Michelle Roberts, a cherished father to 5 children, and a proud grandfather to 6, including 1 heavenly granddaughter. Marty served his country with honor as a Vietnam veteran, completing two tours with courage and dedication.

Following his military service, Marty continued his commitment to public service, embarking on a distinguished career with the Daytona Beach Police Department. Later, he became a highly respected, retired, Sergeant of the Volusia County Sheriff’s Department, where his dedication to justice and community well-being earned him admiration from colleagues and community members alike.

Beyond his professional life, Marty was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding solace and joy in the great outdoors. His love for nature extended to his appreciation for the beauty of horses running freely, a sight that never failed to captivate his dreaming spirit. His passion for his Georgia Bulldogs Football was like a constant flame, igniting his enthusiasm.

Frederick “Marty” Martin Roberts leaves behind a legacy of bravery, service, and a passion for life that touched the hearts of those who knew him. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the community he served so selflessly.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 15th, 1pm at First Baptist Church Daytona Beach, 10 First Baptist Pkwy, Daytona Beach, FL 32124.

Mr. Marty was an honor to know and be around. He always had wisdom and patience. He let me and Sammi run around like crazy girls to the beach, mall and so much more. I am so thankful for the family he brought into this world and the time he allowed me to cherish with the ones he loved and himself.

Marty, thanks for being such a good friend for the past forty five years. From the days of our youth shimping after working
all day to the hunting leases in Flagler County, Georgia, and Texas. I'll never forget the good times we had. Rest in Peace ️

  36. Randy McGreevy says:

What can I say about Marty? As sad as it is that he left this world, he know that he left an amazing legacy behind. I met him in 1982 at the Daytona Beach Police Dept. Immediately took a liking to him. Such a good person. A warrior with a gentle spirit.
He was a great cop. He had an infectious laugh. God took you away. I just believe the “better place” was here.
You fought against a terrible foe. Your suffering is over. Be with God, Marty.
    You are loved.

  37. Linda and Richard Gnau says:

Rest In Peace our Dear Friend...until we meet again.
