Gail Lenore Spencer age 63, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2020 at her home in Deltona, Florida.  After a valiant fight with colon cancer in 2015, Gail’s battle resumed in 2016 when the cancer metastasized to her lungs which spread throughout her body.  Her strong will to live, unwavering faith in God and the love of family and friends carried her through four more years of chemotherapy and radiation.  She finally succumbed after a long and courageous battle of cancer with grace, dignity and faith.

Gail was born in Arima, Trinidad on February 23, 1956, the daughter of the late Frederick and Barbara Wilson.  In 1987, she emigrated to the United States of America and became a Naturalized United States Citizen, one of her proudest accomplishments in her lifetime.  She obtained various hotel management certifications from the American Hotel & Lodging Association in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and worked many years in the hotel and management industry.  Later, she worked in the medical field at Fish Memorial Hospital in Deltona.

On October 26, 1991, Gail married the love of her life, Edward (“Eddie”) Spencer who was her partner in life for 32 years at the time of her death.

Gail had a passion for cooking and baking Trini dishes, most especially over the holidays, she enjoyed listening to Jazz music, watching action and comedy movies, gardening, going to the beaches, and above all, she enjoyed video chatting with her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by her loving husband, her children Leon (Feleena) Wilson, Cherryann Gregory, Dwayne Wilson, Abigail Blackwell, Wilhelm Spencer, Edward Spencer; eight grandchildren, Paul, Luke, Noble, Jaden, Janee, Ethan, Leah and Carolyne; sisters, Juliet, Glenda, Charmaine, Ann and Elizabeth; brothers Tony, Andrew, Nigel, and Kendall; father-in –law, Edward Spencer Sr., mother-in-law, Barbara Spencer; brother-in-law, Andy Spencer; sisters-in-law, Carol Spencer, Gail Andre and Vilma Spencer, as well as many loving extended nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.  She was loved by so many and will be sorely missed, lovingly remembered and forever cherished.

As Scripture says: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.  2 Tim. 4:7.”

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 1:00 P.M., at Our Lady of the Lakes, 1310 Maximillian Street, Deltona, Florida 32725.

Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
