Obituary
Gary Keddy, 78 of South Daytona, FL, passed away on January 3, 2019 at his home. He was born in Ellenburg, NY, he was the son of Roy Keddy and Leona Sattong (Valley).
After moving to Queens, NY, he later moved to Dover Plains, NY. There he was a member JH Ketchum Hose Fire Co. He worked for the Wassaic Developmental Center as well as the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center in Wingdale, NY. HE spent the rest of his days doing general contracting and painting. He loved to keep busy and was a handy man to many. He has lived in South Daytona for the past several years, a place he came to call home.
Besides his parents, Gary was predeceased by his former wife, Phylis Keddy (Jacox), his sister, Janet King and his stepmother Lee Keddy.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Dawn Perkins (Randy) of Gansevoort, NY, his sons, Eric Keddy of South Daytona, FL, Brian Keddy of Colton, NY and Shane Keddy of Hermon, NY. His grandchildren, Michelle Ellis (Brian) of Hinesville, GA, Shawn Perkins (Jaime) of Ganesvoort, NY, Karissa Keddy of Colton, NY and Aiden, Tucker and Charlotte Keddy of Hermon, NY. His great grandchildren, Brayden, Kyleigh and Carson Ellis and Hunter Perkins. Also surviving are his three brothers, RobRoy, Dave and Tom Keddy, his niece, Val Thompson and several cousins. He also had many good friends left to cherish his memory.
Friends and family are welcome to join in a Celebration of Gary’s life on January 21, 2019 from 1-3:30 at the Park Clubhouse on 918 Reed Canal Road, South Daytona. Gary will be buried in the spring along with his mother and sister in Ellenburg.
