Obituary
Genoveva “Genny” Du Kirk, 83, died on March 19, 2019 in Fort Myers Florida, after a brief illness. Her visitation and viewing will be held Friday, March 22, 2019, beginning at 2:00 pm, with a prayer vigil at 3:30 pm, at Baldwin Brothers Funeral and Cremation Society, 4320 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL., 33966. Her remains will be cremated.
Dr. Kirk was born on January 3, 1936, in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, Philippines. She earned her medical degree at the University of Sto. Thomas in 1966, completed Anesthesiology residency at Indiana University Medical Center in 1969. She was a member of the first successful renal transplant team in the Philippines and was one of the pioneers in the use of epidural anesthesia in the Philippines.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her 3 children Josephine, Roman (daughter-in-law Genny), and Lisa (son-in-law Nuel) and 2 grandchildren Matthew and Michael. She was preceded in death by her spouse Windle Kirk who passed away in November 2018.
