Obituary
George Joseph Vardzik, Jr., 68, passed away on March 29, 2024, at Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages, Florida. He was the husband of the late Kelly J. Lewis.
Born in Japan, on October 25, 1955, George was the son of the late George J. Vardzik, Sr., and Akiko Vardzik. He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. During his time of service, he gained achievement and high recognition for his contribution as an Electronic Warfare Equipment Repairman.
After serving his country and establishing his family, he transitioned to California for a profession in computers and soon found a love for RC Cars. After 10 years, he moved to Pennsylvania to be with family. He began a new business venture as a computer technician for PC Systems Plus, from which he retired after 25 years.
George was incredibly talented and regardless of the hobby he pursued, he did it to perfection. He was a passionate angler, often spending countless afternoons on the lake, reeling in the most exquisite fish that others only dreamed about. When he wasn’t fishing, he spent his time as a competitive shooter and enjoyed indoor and outdoor shooting with his impressive collection of firearms. He was a member of the The Villages Air Gun Club. He also enjoyed cycling on his recumbent bike, shooting pool, and watching many, many movies.
He is survived by two children, George Vardzik, III, and his wife, Nichole, and Erica Barshinger; along with three grandchildren: Austin, Kaylin, and Jenna. He is also survived by his brother, Andrew Vardzik, and wife, Karen, and sister, Juliana Vitko, and husband, Russell.
