When Jerry and I met, we where both widowed, after 40 plus years with our spouses. I truly believe that God gave both of us a second chance of love, happiness and that wonderful feeling of having found a companion again. Jerry was so full of life and surprises, introducing me to things I had never experienced before. His love of travel, like just jump in the car and find out where that road takes you, stopping at the roadside vendors for fresh fruit and vegetables in season, enough to share it with all of his neighbors on the street. For the short time that God granted us, we had so much fun traveling from New York to Ohio, Virginia, Missouri, Georgia and many more along the way. So many fun things like taking a Glider ride to see the many lakes that are all around us here in Florida. The boat trips down the many rivers, the deep sea fishing with all the fresh catch that Jerry cleaned up and ready for the oven or the grill. Never thought I would learn how to shoot a gun and how to take care of it. All these wonderful things bring so many fond memories to my mind, but nothing could top the memory of his overwhelming smile when he was happy, it just lit up his face, and all the room around him.

when Jerry and I met, we both where still morning our spouses who we lost to lung cancer. I truly believe God gave us both a second chance of love, happiness and that wonderful feeling of having a companion. Jerry always was so full of life, ready to travel, stop at any roadside fruit stand, and bring back enough of the current harvest to share with the whole neighborhood. In the very short time that God granted us, I have done so many things with Jerry that I never done before, like a Glider flight, learning to shoot a gun, boating down the many rivers here in Florida, watching Jerry fly his RC planes at the flying field, deep sea fishing and enjoying the fresh fish that Jerry caught and cleaned to make it ready to bake or put it on the grill. I will always remember our morning coffee on the lanai, but most of all, i will remember Jerry's radiant smile when he was happy, it was like magic, he lit up the room. So I feel blessed to have enjoyed the love and joy for a short time that will give me fond memories for a lifetime.

We are so thankful that Jerry could be a part of our family. He made mom very happy and the bonus Dad/Opa joined right in on all of our fun which brought so much joy to our lives. Whenever I flip a board on my deck, which Jerry taught me and Jonathan to do, I will remember our time in his classroom. Whenever Jonathan flies one of his planes we will remember the times we went to the flying field and watched in amazement. When Jonathan found out that Oma's new boyfriend was an avid RC flyer he was so excited. This was a hobby of his for a few years but we fly with smaller planes in limited space. Ocala is a fliers Dream. When Jon found out Jerry was an expert marksman he was excited. Whether mom and Jerry came to MO or we went to FL we always made time to practice at the Range. Jerry wore UnderArmor every day. My kids thought he must be the boss at the company so we all called him the Chairman of the Board. The company really should have paid him for all of the advertisement he did for the company. He was a great spokesman! Here's a Hannah favorite memory. While visiting mom and Jerry we decided to float down a nearby river on tubes water was beautiful and clear. I think each of us Dolan's asked Jerry about Alligators and he assured us that it wouldn't be a problem. Water too cold he said. As we were halfway down Hannah's tube got really close to shore and another gentleman yelled over to her to get away from the shoreline as two Alligators were lounging right there. Let's just say the Dolan's moved much quicker than we thought possible and I believe mom and Jerry had little smirks on their faces. I could go on and on. We sure had some fun times in the all too short of time that God brought Jerry to us. May he rest in Peace!

Erika, I am so sorry for your loss! Even though I never met your husband Jerry/Gerald, I know he made you very happy and was quite the outdoorsman!
It is difficult to find the words to express the sorrow we all know you and your family are feeling right now. Hold on and cherish the memories you have of your time with Jerry/Gerald! MayGod ease your sorrow and heartache!

Losing a family member is never easy! I loved all my cousins, but was especially fond of Jerry! We were the closest in age. I loved vacation at his house!! We would go to the rail yard and yell for the engineer on the caboose to throw us a flare. He would, then we would give them to my father, who always found a use for them. I will never forget the year we found the Santa suit in the fruit cellar!
Erica, you made Jerry very happy! I am so glad you two found each other! I am so sorry for your loss, but know JERRY is in a better place. Our deepest sympathy to you! Judy and Bill Cheney

I remember the day I got to walk my Mom down the Aisle at Jerry and Moms wedding a few years ago and said one thing to my Mom just as we were walking, that she was blessed not only to have met one great man but two in her life. When I first met Jerry he treated me like a son, we had a great relationship. He even took me out for my one and only hunting trip, I'm not much of a hunter. The only bad part about that was it was in Kansas in January, I froze my butt off looking for coyotes. But we had a great time bonding and just relaxing in the middle of nowhere. You will be missed Jerry,
a lot of people Loved you and you will not me forgotten. Thanks for always being there for my Mom and bringing Joy into our lives.

I still remember the first time Jerry came over for us to meet him; he held out his hand for me to shake, but I gave him a hug instead. I think he was surprised and pleased all at the same time.
He formed a unique bond with everyone he met - you could always find a little something in common with Jerry.
My nieces & nephews liked to refer to him as "Bonus Opa." He had an especially great bond with Jonny Dolan with flying airplanes. Jonny always liked to learn how to fix things from Jerry when he would go visit Leanne - Leanne always had something that needed a little Jerry-tender-loving-care.
It was especially great when mom & Jerry got to be in town for Tim's first hole in one - Jerry & Tim went shopping to celebrate.
Jerry & mom brought a lot of joy to each other and those around them. I am glad he let us all be a part of his life.

I am so grieved by your loss of Jerry. I was so fond of him from the very first, e had a zeal for life I wish I could emulate. God had blessed you both when bringing you together. Our Savior Jesus Christ remains at your side for all eternity. Never doubt His love for you for He will grant you a peace beyond the understanding of our simple human hearts. Our existence upon this earth is so limited, yet we will join in joyous re-union shortly in joy unspeakable. God bless you!

When I think of Jerry, it always brings a smile to my face. Between our playing left, right and center, to going to new restaurants out in the country, you just never knew what adventure you were in for when you got together with Jerry. We are all going to miss him, but will cherish our happy memories.

We were lucky to have met Jerry a few years ago. We found him to be quite a gentleman. He obviously cared for our longtime friend Erika and would do all he could to make her happy. He had a wonderful smile and sense of humor, a bright mind and many interesting hobbies. We are sorry we did not get to spend more time with him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Erika and all his family.
