Gilbert Joe Bryant, 50, Oak Hill, FL died Friday, July 30, 2010, at the Hospice Care Center in Edgewater, Fl surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born and raised in the New Smyrna Beach area where he lived most of his life. Using skills his Uncle Al taught him, he developed a great talent for building and fixing almost anything which he honed into his livelihood as an auto body mechanic.
Gilbert is survived by his children Amber Bryant of Savannah, GA, Wesley Bryant and Ashley Bryant of Oak Hill, sister Bonnie Foley of New Smyrna Beach and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Nancy Bryant.
Gilbert will be remembered as an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed many hours boating, camping, waterskiing, and surfing. In addition, he liked NASCAR (especially when he camped in his custom, modified yellow school bus with friends and family) and he loved riding his Harley.
Life Tribute Memorial will be 3:00 PM Saturday, August 7 at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Chapel 1 North Causeway New Smyrna Beach FL with The Reverend Beverly Richardson Hospice of Volusia Chaplin officiating.
Deepest sympathies with respect to Gilbert. Although, I hadn't seen him in about 15 years, occasionally I thought about him. He was always a great guy and a lot of fun. His premature loss at this young age comes as a shock. GOD bless you all.
