Obituary

Ginette E. Fountaine was born on May 14, 1932. Ginette passed away December 19, 2017, in Ft Myers, Florida after a long illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Robert Fountaine and her grandson Tyler Houghton. She is survived by a son, Alan Fountaine, daughter Chantal Houghton and her husband David, grandsons Jason Houghton, and Jonathan Fountaine and granddaughter Brenda Cheeseman and her husband Shane as well as great-grandchildren Connor and Alaina Cheeseman. She is also survived by her beloved sister Jacqueline Urbanek and her husband Czeslaw, and her wonderful sister in law, Arlene Gauthier. Also surviving nieces, nephews and cousins in France. Born in Saverne, France, she came to the United States after marrying her dashing Air Force husband and became a citizen soon after.  She learned English on her own thereby making her fluent in 4 languages.  She traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe. She loved gardening, shopping and traveling. She passed away quietly surrounded by her family. Ginette will be laid to rest with her dearly missed husband at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Services will be performed on a date to be determined at: Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, 143 Blue Star Avenue, Augusta, ME.
