Gloria A. Keith, 63, of The Villages, Florida and former resident of Tonawanda, New York died on March 6, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. Gloria was born in Buffalo, New York on July 5, 1950, and moved to The Villages, January 2006. She was a graduate of Nardin Academy and Buffalo State College. She worked as a Special Education teacher in the Buffalo Public Schools until her retirement in 2005 Gloria was well known for her social abilities, she would quietly work the room until she had made friends with everyone. New friends would become extended family that she could invite to concerts, festivals and other social events. An avid "garage sale follower", she could be found looking for bargains for her and for her friends. A favorite pastime was traveling: by RV to the main 48 states, to the Caribbean, to Alaska and a recent trip to Italy. Gloria is survived by her husband Charles "Chuck" Keith, a sister Donna Dudek, a sister Marilyn Simon, and a brother Bob Simon. She was a step mother to Shawn Keith, Michael Keith and Jamie Keith Blaszkowiak and 5 grand children. Flowers graciously declined, donations in "Loving memory of Gloria" may be made to American Lung Association or The Villages Cornerstone Hospice. The family is planning a "Celebration of her Life" gathering with family and friends at her home on Monday, March 10th at 4pm
Gloria was one of the first friends I met when we moved to the Villages in 2007. She soon became a good friend as we shared fun activities and enjoyed each others company. Living across the street from one another in the Village of Largo made it easy to do things together. Even our doggies Toby and Rocky became good friends and then Chewey and Rocky. Gloria was a wonderful friend to everybody and was very inclusive as she shared her ideas of what to do next for fun. All of us that knew Gloria loved her for she was very giving, hospitable and a sweet friend to all of us. We all will miss her presence here on earth. I know she's in heaven and present with the Lord for her faith in Christ was expressed. Gloria, until we meet again. With love to my sweet friend.
I was sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family
I am so sorry to hear that Gloria lost this battle and experienced this serious illness.
I am so glad that she was home for our Nardin reunion.
My thoughts are with you..may she rest in peace singing and playing the guitar after a great round of golf!
