Obituary

Hannah Clara Kolb, 76, of New Smyrna Beach, beloved wife of the late William Kolb and cherished mother to her sons, Jon Kann, Joseph Kolb and her daughters Helen Totaro and Beth Kolb. Hannah passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, March 25, 2024. Hannah was born on June 23, 1947, in Roselle Park, New Jersey. Hannah was the tenth of eleven children born to Eleanor Kann (Hadley) and Irwin Francis Kann. Hannah lived in various locations in the United Sates during her life but mostly called Long Island NY and Florida home. Hannah’s life was filled with love, laughter, and a deep devotion to her family.

A dedicated wife and loving mother, Hannah’s kindness and warmth touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a pillar of strength and a source of unwavering support for her family, always putting their needs above her own.

Hannah is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Lawrence Jr, Corey, Sarah, Zachary, Makayla, Erik, Lionel, Evan, Dezstyn, Jamie (JB), Leo and 11 great-grandchildren all of whom were the light of her life. She took great joy in watching them grow and thrive. Hannah’s love for them knew no bounds. Hannah is also survived by her youngest brother Irwin Kann Jr and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to Hannah’s roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother, Hannah was a dear sister and a loyal friend.

Hannah leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. Hannah’s presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though she may be gone, her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

May she rest in peace, knowing that she was loved and treasured by many.

It was Hannah’s wish that there be no service. Hannah’s final wish was to be cremated and her ashes spread in the Indian River where her late husband, William Kolb’s ashes were spread years prior. At which time, the family and close friends will have a small private ceremony.

Aunt Pugg, you will be missed. Absent from the body, present with the Lord. See you on the other side. Love you!

    Dear Grandma,
I am at a loss of words. Little did you know, we were planning a surprise visit so that you can meet Connor in person. I’m really sad that it can’t happen now… Thank you for always being considerate of my feelings and always showing me kindness. I will always remember our cruise trip together. I will miss watching Wheel of Fortune with you. I will miss making you laugh with my weird sense of humor and off-color jokes. I wish we got to spend more time together…we love you and will miss you greatly. <3

John and I both know the pain of losing a parent and it's not easy, but you will always have all the great memories. Share them often, especially with all the little ones growing up.

There really are no words to express how a child feels at the loss of a parent. There is a deep saddening in my heart. I keep wanting to call and check in .. ride over and visit. Time will soften the pain but never remove it. You never truly realize how much your parents mean to you. How much support and advice they offer, even after you have grown, moved out of house and started life on your own. But once can't make that call any longer things come clearly into perspective. Mom I probably never said I Love You enough but, I hope you knew how much you meant to me. I will carry you in my heart forever. You will never be far from my thoughts. I already miss you terribly. May you rest in peace. I love you always ....
