Obituary
Harold Ray Esque, 86, Army Veteran, of Port Orange, Florida, formerly of Earling, West Virginia, passed away on June 8, 2022. He leaves behind his loving wife of almost 44 years, Norma Esque, four sisters; Pat Esque, Lyburn, West Virginia, Dreama Peters, Accorville, West Virginia, Joyce Perry, Man, West Virginia, and Linda Wooten, Accorville, West Virginia, one brother, Chan Esque, Hopewell, Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Hazel (Musick) Esque, Earling, West Virginia, his sister Carol Esque, Earling, West Virginia, and his brother, Eugene Esque, Cleveland, Ohio.
Harold was a waiter in his earlier years and worked at Countryside Lakes Retirement Home for many years in the dining room and activities department, serving the elderly. He also taught a Bible class and helped with the worship services, as well as singing in the choir. He was an usher at Crossroads Church as well as other churches over the years and presided over the prayer for his Life Group. He also helped with the church dinners on Wednesdays.
Harold loved watching sports, especially Baseball, and had the honor of being inducted into the 1954 Athletic Hall of Fame of Man High School in 2009 for Baseball. He enjoyed taking long walks handing out tracts and telling others about Jesus. He loved travelling and visiting his family. Harold was a sweet gentle man and always had a word of encouragement to everyone he met. You would never see Harold without a smile on his face and he will be leaving a legacy that will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
A service to celebrate Harold’s life is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday July 26, 2022, at Crossroads Church, located at 1851 South Clyde Morris Boulevard, Daytona Beach, Florida 32119.
