Obituary
Helen Holcomb, age 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 31, 2020 in Edgewater, Florida. She is survived by her son Jeff Burdette and daughter in-law Karen Burdette, daughter Diane Kraker and son in-law Larry Kraker, grandchildren, Lindsey and Trevor Lett, Jennifer and Monterey Elkins, Matt Reeves and Jessica McKee, Ryan and Jackie Burdette, Chris and Carolina Reeves, great grandchildren, Andrew and Blake Sartoretti, Shay Lett, Amos Burdette and Nicholas Reeves. Helen is preceded in death by husbands Elmer Burdette, Don Holcomb and son Wayne Burdette.
Helen was born on May 3,1928 in Atlanta, Georgia to parents Grover and Mary Lucille Lawrimore.
Helen worked as an administrative assistant for many years. Her last ten years were her favorite where she and her husband, Don, ran their own business working on Bridgeport milling machine heads.
Helen was extremely active in the community where she lived. For 19 years she was in charge of the information blue screen system keeping everyone abreast of the comings and goings. She also enjoyed the opportunity to serve in many capacities. She loved being in charge of bingo and canasta and poker games and for years she was president of the bowling league in her community. She loved and participated in tap dancing until she was 86 years old.
Her celebration of life is scheduled for Friday, September 4th at the clubhouse in Edgewater Landing, 601 Homeport Terrace, 2:30-3 pm for family and friends gathering and 3 o’clock service. Graveside service at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, 3700 Stone Mountain Highway, Snellville, Geogia, 30039 to be announced at a later date.
