Obituary

W. Wehnes, Jr., passed away on March 29, 2020.  He was born April 1, 1933 in Youngstown, Ohio and moved to Jacksonville, Florida with his family in 1968 where he started a public insurance adjusting company, Howard W. Wehnes, Jr & Company.

He is survived by his wife Deborah, sons Howard Wehnes III (Kathryn) of Tampa, Bill Wehnes of Jacksonville Beach, grand-daughter Elizabeth Wehnes of Tampa, his sister Eleanor McHattie (Irvin) of Houston, Texas, step-daughters Lisa Galen and Christina Casul (Carlos) and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father Howard Wehnes and his mother Eda Eugster of Youngstown, Ohio, and his sister Betty Martin.

Howard was known by his family and friends for his pride in his Swiss/German heritage and he loved traveling and exploring the area his grandparents were from.  His hobbies were travel, boating, collecting clocks and antiques, socializing with friends and family, and he had a great love of cars.  He was a man of dignity, integrity and grace with a great sense of humor.  He was much loved and was the anchor of his family and will be sadly missed by all, but we are comforted to know he has gone on to a better place.

A Memorial is planned for a later date.
