Obituary
James Glanfield, 64, of Ponce Inlet, passed away on Jan. 5, 2021. Mr. Glanfield was born in Elizabeth, NJ and grew up in Scotch Plains NJ, and Brookfield CT. He is survived by his brother Tom Glanfield and his wife Sheila of Delray Beach, FL; his sister, Mary Mackintosh and her husband David of Manlius, NY; and nieces and nephews with spouses – TJ and Seran Glanfield, Anna Hennessy, David and Jordan Mackintosh, Katherine and Tommy Benning, Sarah Mackintosh, and Patrick Mackintosh. His parents Tom and Dorothy Glanfield pre-deceased him.
Jim was a great athlete, an All-State wrestler in high school, he continued his prowess on the wrestling mat throughout college. He graduated from Albright College in Reading, PA. He relocated to Orlando from Chicago prior to moving to Ponce Inlet. Jim had a wonderful sense of humor and his fun-loving personality endeared him to many. He always had a kind word for everyone. He loved his family and was particularly proud of his nieces and nephews. Jim was a history buff and loved his country. He spent much of his professional career in the telecom and technology sector. He will be sadly missed by his siblings, nieces and nephews.
Private services for the immediate family only will be held. In a post COVID-19 environment, the family will have a celebration event of Jim’s life. In lieu of flowers, Jim would have appreciated donations to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
