May 14, 1943 to December 24, 2015

The Villages, FL, Gordon Stephenson, 72, entered into rest on Thursday, December, 24, 2015.Gordon was born in St.Louis , MO. wIth pride and honor he served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was a liquor salesmen for many years and worked for his lifetime friend Bud Winzen’s Company in St. Louis before retiring to Atlanta where he met and married his wife Becky through another lifetime friend, Gary Huffman. Gordon loved the game of golf, boating and tinkering in his garage. Gordon was the life of the party and had a fast network of friends in St. Louis, Atlanta and The Villages , FL where Becky and Gordon retired in 2012.His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Becky, stepson, Joe Fiala, daughter-in-law Audrey Fiala of Seattle, Washington, step-daughter, Anna Dixon, son- in-law Donald Dixon of St. Petersburg, FL and sister, Lee Hicks and brother-in-law Ken Hicks of Festus, Mo.A Celebration of Life Service with honor guard will be held on January, 15th at 12:00 at The American Legion, Post 347, 699 W. Lady Lake, FL 32159. The Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions to The American Legion (legion.org) where Gordon was a lifetime member.

    Gordon was the classic "Hale fellow, well met" and was great fun to be around. We are lucky to meet one of those good souls in a lifetime. I've met perhaps 3 and Gordon was at the top of the list. The world is a bit darker with his passing.
