So shocked and saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Knew his mom and dad and observed his amazing talent as a little boy teaching himself the bass in Albion Michigan. What a tremendous loss to his family and friends and to the music world. Sending condolences to them.

Wow, what a loss in the entertainment field. I only met Jim a several years ago when I was going to the Opry in Weirsdale. I loved the fact that when he was playing his eyes were closed as if the music he was playing was verberating from his being. You could see that. Amazing. His humor was on point too. He will be missed by all who knew him. A great human being he was. He is one of those guys you don't forget.
My condolences to his wife and family at this time of loss. He is a Star among the stars..
