Obituary

James Corbett Martin Jr, 61, of Lake Jem, Florida, passed away suddenly on November 2, 2021. On September 19, 1960, James was born to Jim and Judith Braswell Martin in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born a “military brat” and thus moved around the United States and Germany with his family for the first 15 years. After graduating from Seminole High School in 1978, he worked for Tubetec in Sanford, Florida and attended Seminole Community College.  In 1992, he met Ouida Stark Brumley at The Barn in Sanford, and they married in 1994. In the next 12 years, they had 4 wonderful children together. He was an extremely hard worker, dedicated and determined to provide for his family and give them the life they deserved. He worked the last 25 years as a Senior Field Service Engineer at OPEX Corporation and had recently changed to The Deluxe Corporation.

James loved music, especially classic rock. Very few could match his knowledge of music artists and their songs/performances. He was an avid Boston Redsox fan as well as a Florida Gator fan. His passion was fishing and collecting fishing lures/rods, sports cards and farming his Suzieq WoW character.

Everyone who knew James knew that he was an incredibly kind, loving, gentle, and peaceful person.  His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, and he was unendingly proud of his four children James is survived by his wife Stark, children Jonathan, Olivia Rees (Michael), Sam, and Daniel. He is also survived by his mother, Judith Braswell Martin, and father, James Corbett Martin. He leaves behind his sister, Angela Shuett (Gerald), and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial/celebration of life on Sunday, November 7, at 4:00 PM at the family residence.
