James R. "Jimmy" Surber, 70, of Dunnellon, FL, passed away June 23, 2015. James was born February 26, 1945 in Plant City, FL., was raised in Floral City, Fl. and was a barber for 40 years in Bradenton, Fl and Inverness, Fl. He moved to Dunnellon from Nokomis, FL. He was a member of the Sertoma Club, was in the Coast Guard Reserves, and enjoyed fishing and hunting in his free time. James is survived by his three children, Allen Bentley, Myakka, FL, Donna Opdyke, Dunnellon, FL, Scott Bentley, Bradenton, FL, four siblings, Shirley Jones, Hernando, FL, Allen Surber, Hernando, FL, Mike McClure, Tennessee, Timothy McClure, Dunnellon, FL, thirteen grandchildren, and seventeen and a half great-grandchildren. James is preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Surber, his father, Albert Surber, mother, Olivene Surber-McClure, son, Roger Bentley, and seven brothers and two sisters.
