In loving memory of Janice J Elkins
April 6, 1945 – July 31, 2023

Janice J Elkins, 78, Port Orange, Florida, passed away on Monday July 31,2023 at Halifax Hospice Care Center surrounded by her loving family.

Janice was born in Chapmanville, WV on April 6, 1945 to the late Mr. Joseph Clyde Jordan and Mrs. Goldie B (Hale) Jordan.

Janice graduated from Mainland High School, Daytona Beach Florida, in 1963. She continued her education later in life by first becoming a Registered Nurse and then a Certified Public Accountant, graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Central Florida.

Jan was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family, reading, computers and puzzles. Her quest for knowledge never waned throughout her life. She was deeply spiritual and will be sorely missed by many.

Jan is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Jerry L Elkins, two daughters Lori (Tim) Melady of Jacksonville, Florida and Victoria L Elkins of Port Orange, Florida, her sister Linda Thorpe and sister in law Flo Jordan, both of Daytona Beach, five grandchildren: Erin (Aaron) Melady Kesterson, Timothy (Mallory) Melady Jr., Jerome F Flanagan, Thomas J Melady and Taylor R Melady, and four great grandchildren: Timothy I Melady, Charlotte R Leonard, Elinor R Melady and Christian J Kesterson and a multitude of loving nieces and nephews.
