Jarius Donald Eckard, 87, a resident of Port Orange since 1948, passed away on October 26, 2018. He was born in Hickory, NC on January 12, 1931. J.D. proudly served in the Navy. He went on to work at Daytona Sheet Metal Works for forty years. Upon their closing, he started J.D. Eckard Heating and Air Conditioning until his retirement in 1995.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years Carole Eckard, and children: Terry (Steven) Speroni of Port Orange, J.D., Jr. (Sandy) Eckard of Taylorsville, NC, Lorrie (George) Blalock of Port Orange, and Mike Eckard of Port Orange. Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews.
Donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church at 1205 Ridgewood Avenue Holly Hill, Florida 32117. A memorial service will be at Trinity Lutheran Church at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday November 3, 2018. You are invited to share your memories with the family at www.baldwincremation.com.
