Obituary
Jeffrey D. Hajko, 47, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024, after an extended illness in Bonita Springs, Florida. A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, he was born on March 4, 1977, and established his life in South Florida over the last twenty years.
Jeffrey is survived by his loving mother, Sharon D. Hajko; brother, Charles V. Hajko III; sister, Valerie (Hajko) Collier; nephew, Matthew Collier; niece, Chloe Collier and close friend Cynthia Lennon Wu., father, Charles V. Hajko Jr. He now joins his late brother, Justin T. Hajko, in eternal rest.
Jeffrey was known for his humble and hardworking nature. He held multiple jobs simultaneously through his adult life and kept that ethic no matter what life threw at him. His witty sense of humor brought joy to those around him.
In his career, Jeffrey found fulfillment as a sous chef at Bonita Bay Country Club as well as Flemmings and shared his passion for ballroom dancing through teaching for many years in addition to the many odd jobs he undertook to keep himself busy. He was a graduate of Karns High School in Knoxville, Tennessee, and attended the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology as an engineering student.
Jeffrey’s hobbies reflected his zest for life. Whether he was crafting a new recipe, riding his bicycle, gliding through a kayak excursion, or lending his talents to the dancefloor, he embraced the beauty in everyday pursuits.
A private ceremony will be held for immediate family members in Tennessee. Baldwin Brothers of Fort Myers, Florida, are entrusted with the arrangements.
To honor Jeffrey’s memory, those who wish may make donations to Hope Hospice or Alcoholics Anonymous in lieu of flowers.
Jeffrey’s gracious spirit and tenacious heart will be profoundly missed and forever remembered by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
The family extends a special thank you to Lee Memorial and Hope Hospice in Cape Coral for the kindness and compassion shown to Jeffrey as well as his family members.
