Obituary
Jeffrey Nelson Haislip passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning.
Born in Greenville, North Carolina on October 2, 1957, Jeff was a long-time resident of Martin County. He attended Oak City High School, and was proud to graduate from East Carolina University in 2012. He retired from the State of North Carolina in 2008, and served as a City Commissioner for the town of Oak City.
Jeff loved books, reading, crossword puzzles, and he valued his role in founding the Goose Nest Wildlife Association in 1993. In early 2019, he moved to Port Orange, Florida, to be near his daughter and her family. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters – they were his pride and joy.
Survivors include his daughter Lyndsay Beaulieu and husband Jason of Florida, grandchildren Jordyn, Taylor, and Emily Beaulieu, also of Florida, and sisters Lynn Crisp and husband Bucky of Oak City and June Ellen Haislip of Deltaville, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Frances Haislip, and brother Alex Haislip.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Oak City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred for the Oak City EMS at PO Box 251, 100 E Commerce Street, Oak City, NC 27857.
