Obituary
Jerome Zygner, born on February 21, 1943, peacefully went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on January 22, 2024. Surrounded by the love of his family, Jerry leaves behind a legacy of passion, commitment, and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Gayle Zygner, a union characterized by love, support, and enduring companionship. His devotion to Gayle was unwavering and served as a testament to the strength of their bond. He is also survived by his daughter, Anne Surface, son-in-law John Surface, and the light of his life, granddaughter Savannah Surface.
From early childhood Jerry had a love for the outdoors, going on camping, canoeing, hiking, hunting and fishing trips too numerous to recount. Jerry also gave back by teaching hunters safety ensuring the education of future generations.
Jerry worked for DTE Energy for 34 years. Jerry’s retirement years were not only a time for relaxation and enjoyment but also an opportunity to expand his circle of friends. His social gatherings were filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the shared joy of the Florida sunshine.
As we remember and celebrate the life of Jerome Zygner, let us thank God for granting us his presence and for the impact and encouragement he brought to all of us.
