Joan Rudolph, age 72, died peacefully on December 2oth, 2022 at HCA Florida Ocala Hospital.

Joan was born on April 26th, 1949 in Queens, New York to Helen Scroll and James Luttrell. She graduated from Winter Haven Senior High School, and then University of South Florida with a degree in Counseling Education. She had a successful career as a school counselor.

Joan is survived by her brother, son, grandson, and many others.

In addition to her career, she loved to sew and was a talented quilter. Her enjoyment was enhanced when her quilts won awards and when she could give her quilts to friends and family.

There will not be a service. Joan will be cremated and later spread into the wind. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to celebrate her life remembering a fond memory you shared with her. You are also welcome to share your condolences with the family via the Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society website. www.baldwincremation.com

Joan and I shared a house on the Hillsborough River in the mid ‘70’s. We did have lots of laughs together. I am saddened to hear of her passing. Best wishes to her brother and all her family.

Joan was a great friend at the Bernina sewing center. We had many laughs and giggles there while we stitched and taught classes. I will always remember her for her fabric bowls.

Joan was a great friend when we taught at the Bernina store in Tampa. We laughed at silly things we said or did. A beautiful thought to be scattered in the wind.

Joan was my first cousin and though we hardly spoke thru all the many years (of no fault on either party) we started connecting just a few years ago. We got along so well from communing about politics to our parents/grandparents, her son and grandchild both of whom she was over the moon. Never once did she talk about her health issues which when I heard what she had gone thru in her lifetime I was in awe and respect and always will be.
She "came in" very strongly the other day as I was going to call and tell her that I had intended to make my way to the east coast this year and was going to see her along the way. Then Butch called.
I learned or heard the words again that we only have a small amount of time on this planet and that there never is any time to waste or wait for a better time.
See you someday soon dear Joan and we'll continue our conversations on how to heal the world and make it a more kind and loving place for all of us to live! Much love, Jude
