Obituary

Joanne Ellen Klanke was born to the late Harold Ingersoll and Doris (Motley) Ingersoll on November 13, 1954 and passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2022.  She married David Richard Klanke in December of 1996.  David preceded her in death on April 23, 2021.  Our hearts are broken as we all mourn the loss of our beloved sister.  Joanne and David enjoyed lake living, spending time with family, friends, and their dog “Chip.”  In 2017, she bought a home in Lady Lake, Florida, and enjoyed spending her winters there and her summers in Michigan. However, approximately 18 months ago they decided to permanently make their residence in Florida.

Joanne is proceeded also in death by her half-sister Marcella (Walter) Shank in February 2020, a half-brother John (Jean) Wesley Ingersoll in August 2004. She also had a younger sister Judith Gay Ingersoll who passed in December 2004 and other Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Joanne was the second oldest of 8 children and is survived by an older sister Jacklynn (Bill-Deceased in 2012) Fairfield, brother Jonathan (Joanne) Ingersoll, sister Jill Dennis, sister Janet (Craig) Bisard, brother Jimmy (Nina) Ingersoll and brother Kelly (Kristen) Ingersoll.  Joanne left behind 6 nieces, 7 nephews and 4 stepchildren: Scott Klanke, Dolly Steele (Richard Cangley), Todd (Maria Alvarado) Klanke and Buffy (Darren) LaGore, 3 grandchildren: Tate (Britni) Ketola, Kyle LaGore and Albany LaGore, and 2 great-grandchildren: Jailyn Ketola and Tate Ketola.

Joanne enjoyed researching her immediate Ingersoll family genealogy.  She enjoyed her time spent with friends like Grace McCarroll (Steve-Deceased November 2017), Rick and Danette Smith, many of her childhood and adulthood friends, as well as her godsons and goddaughters.  Pontoon boating, doing projects around the home, collecting Marie Osmond Dolls and going on cruises with her husband and friends were also activities she enjoyed.

We will miss our sister, as will those she impacted throughout her life.  For the first time, we will not have Joanne, David or Marcella attend the Ingersoll Reunion later this year in Michigan.  We are confident Joanne is enjoying being reunited with her beloved husband David, deceased parents and siblings along with many of our Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

There will be a cemetery service and celebration of life held on August 4, 2022, at 10:00am (luncheon to follow) for family and friends to say their final farewell.  She will be laid to rest next to her husband David in Ridgeway Cemetery in Tecumseh, Michigan.
