Obituary

In Loving Memory of

John L. Busch

November 18, 1943-April 30, 2022

John “Jack” L. Busch, age 78, a resident of South Daytona, FL, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Saturday, April 30, 2022. Jack fought a courageous battle with cancer but always remained positive and amused others with his witty remarks. He always remarked, “things could be worse.”

Jack was born on November 18, 1943, in Ottawa, IL. He graduated from Gilman High School in 1962 and then served in the US Air Force for four years. He worked in the chemical plant industry for 29 years before taking early retirement and moving from Illinois to Florida. Jack and his wife own a janitorial cleaning business that Jack oversaw until the end.

Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was known for being kind, thoughtful, and extremely hard working. He enjoyed his pets, Nascar races, lawn and gardening, creating healthy meals, and going to the beach with his wife. He took pride in being “papa” to granddaughter Isabella “Lizzard” and great-grandson Kash.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Harness, and his two children: Camela Busch of Kissimmee, FL, and Jeffrey Busch of Ashland, VA. He has one granddaughter and one great-grandson. He has one brother, Ronald Busch, and one sister Sandy Krones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Busch and Beulah Durflinger of Gilman, IL; one brother Roger Busch.

Memorial services will be private at the time.

Words can't express how deeply sorry I am for how much pain you must have been in. You were always so gentle and kind to me when I was a child. You never once raised your voice towards me even lolol when I wouldn't stop talking lololol. Thank you for that. I love you Uncle Jack and if there's life after death, I'll see you on the other side.
