John D. Tracy, 72, of New Smyrna Beach, FL passed away on September 28, 2015 at the Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in Edgewater, FL. John was born on July 23, 1943 in Paducah, KY to the late John E. and Eunice (Wise) Tracy. John was a Veteran of the US Navy. He always had a special place in his heart for the underdog which led him into a 30 year career as a Labor Leader for the UFCW and a mentor for those with special needs. After retiring in 1994, he drove a school bus for Greenwood Community Schools for 10 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling, and spending time with his family. John was a lifelong animal lover and had a great sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Vicki L. Tracy of New Smyrna Beach. Additional survivors include his daughter, Dee Dee Tobe; his son John A. Tracy and his wife Monica; his son Stephen Tracy and his wife Angela; his son, Shane Tracy; his daughter Tara Tracy; his step-daughter Leslie Roberts; his sister Linda Traugott and her husband Gene; his sister Pamela Baker and her husband David; his 7 grandchildren, Amanda, Breanna, Austin, Ethan, Ella, Evan, and Lydia; his 3 great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Zoe. John was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law and wife of Shane, Tammy Tracy. Memorial donations may be made in memory of John to the Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler. A Memorial Service will be held in Indiana, and at a later date in Florida. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Baldwin Brothers Cremation Society.
