Obituary

John (Jack) Francis Daly

Jack passed away on October 25, 2022. Jack was born on April 3, 1934 in Omagh, County Tyrone, Ireland. He attended Christian Brother’s Technical School. Jack immigrated to America in 1954. He joined the United States Air Force to aid in his citizenship and was sent to Korea to help in radar defense. During a leave period, he met the love of his life, Judy, in Palm Beach, Florida. Upon his final return to the United States they were married in 1959. Jack had a career with Walt Disney World for 30 years, from 1970 until retiring in 2000. Jack loved grilling, growing roses, fishing on Sanibel Island and adding to his knowledge about all sorts of trades through reading and continuing education. Jack was always ready with a quick, sometimes inappropriate quip to the delight of his grandchildren.

Jack is preceded in death by his wife Judy, father and mother John and Rose Daly, brothers Donald and Paul and sister Belma. He is survived by his children Melissa (George) Miller, Cindy (Kenny) Corbett, and Sean (Denise) Daly. Grandpa Jack/Jackie to grandchildren Ryan, Timothy, Rachel, Alexander, Hannah, Grant, Sean Jr., Jonathan and Amanda. He also loved and was loved by 13 Great-grandchildren. Per Jack’s wishes there will be no funeral service. His ashes will be scattered at a later date.

His family is extremely grateful to Florida Living Nursing Care and Hospice.

Although he was extremely proud to be an American citizen, he continued to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day as his holiday each year.

May the road rise up to meet you

May the wind be always at your back

May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rain fall softly upon your fields

And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
