John J. Marino Jr. 90 years old of The Villages, FL. was born on June 10, 1927 in Middletown CT., and passed away on 1/18/2018, in The Villages, FL. He was the son of the late Anna Salafia Marino and the late John J. Marino Sr. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean conflicts, and retired from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in 1987, after 28 years of service as a manufacturing engineer.
He was a past member of the following organizations: The Lions Club of Middletown, CT – President from 1991-1992, Literacy Volunteers of Greater Middletown, M.A.P.S. (Multiple Sclerosis) of Middlesex County, The Italian American Civic Order of Middletown CT, Southern Pines Homeowners Assoc. of Bonita Springs FL, Lions Club of FL, The Villages Homeowners Assoc. of FL, The Villages Musical Co. (set Designer and Builder), The Villages Christmas Parade (Designer and Builder of parade floats from golf carts), The Italian Language Class of Santiago Village, Connie Waldron’s Showbiz Productions of FL, Present member of the V.F.W. Post #2138 of Rocky Hill CT. He sang with St. Sebastian’s Church Choir Middletown CT, for fifty years, The Middlesex Hospital Vocal Chords, for several years, and The Village Voices for two years.
John was predeceased by his wife of 20 years, Lucille Garofalo Marino, who passed away on November 6, 1967 in Middletown CT., and two brothers, Mr. Sebastian (Mike) Marino and Francis (Chick) Marino.
