John P. Komar 46, of Lehigh Acres Florida, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on January 9th, 2024. John was born in Middleburg Heights Ohio on April 30th, 1977, to his parents John and Robin Komar of Ohio. In October of 1979, the Komar’s left Ohio as they start their lives in Florida, where they had two more boys, Tim and Carl.
As a child John played Pop Warner football after school, enjoyed building model cars, and loved playing outdoors. When he wasn’t enjoying hobbies, he would be in the garage, where his dad would teach him how to work with his hands, that would assist him later in life.
Once John was old enough, he worked hard to build his knowledge and reputation. He spent many years of his life in the golf cart/ATV industry, where he was best known for customizing golf carts and ATV’s but made his living servicing and repairing them. Later in life John met his wife Tammy who also brought with her first-born Jessica into his life, together they had two beautiful children, daughter Jasmine and son Phoenix. John was so proud of his kids and so excited to watch them grow. A year into his battle he found out he would become a grandfather to Jessica’s first child, to which he was so excited to meet him. John spent 20 beautiful years together with Tammy and they bought their first home together in Lehigh Acres. John continued to work hard and provide a good life for his children, they enjoyed family trips, whether going to theme parks, to monster truck shows or longer trips to New England for the first time to attend his nieces first baby shower. He enjoyed spending those moments with his family and looked forward to many more family trips.
In 2022 after returning from a family trip, John was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer and tumors on his lungs, after aggressive chemotherapy and radiation the esophageal cancer went into remission, yet cancer remained in his lungs. Chemo and radiation treatments continued but his body was getting weak, and he was getting sicker. John became too sick and unable to continue the chemo and radiation treatments, at which time Tammy became his 24-hour caretaker and worked full time to continue to support the family.
