Obituary
Jose Manuel Morales, (76) passed away on the 18 of December 2019 after various complications from End-Stage Parkinson’s at Hope Hospice, Lehigh Acres, FL. He was born January 22, 1943 to Jose Morales and Maria Gonzalez in Rio Piedra, Puerto Rico. He was known as a natural comedian, always making others laugh with his humor. He lived much of his early life in Puerto Rico, where he graduated from high school and soon after moved to New York.
In 1964, he met his wife Teresa Mendez and they married in 1965, and soon after had their first child, Jose Morales Jr. Later, he joined the United States Army and served four years of active duty, and another four years as a reservist. During his time as a reservist, he was called to serve in the Vietnam War as an Armorer and Unit Supply Specialist. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal E-4. After his service, he then moved to New Jersey to complete an associate degree in Criminal Justice, and in subsequent years had his next two children, Janice and Eduard Morales. With his degree he pursued a career as a police officer. In 1976, he and his wife moved to Broward County, FL. He retired in 2005 from Broward County as a welder.
For many years, he loved to take his children to Key West, FL to fish and to catch crabs. During his leisure time, he always enjoyed playing ping pong, bowl, or play baseball. He also especially enjoyed billiards in which he always ended victorious. He is survived by his spouse, Teresa Morales, his eldest son Jose Morales, Jr., his daughter Janice Morales, his youngest son Eduard Morales, his grandchildren Jose D. Morales, Natalia Morales, Giovanni Morales, Joseph Dorian, Jocelyn Dorian, Caleb Morales, and Mariela Morales, his siblings Rita, Felicita, Felix, Luz, Moises, and Angel. The Memorial Service will be held at Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, 4320 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida, 33966 on December 20, 2019 for viewing at 5:00, and service.
