Obituary
Joseph Anthony Campise Jr., 80, of Lakewood Ranch FL, died peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Hartford CT, son of the late Joseph A Campise Sr. and Mary (Forte) Campise-Booth. Joe lived in Connecticut most of his life. After graduating from William H Hall High, Joe continued his education, making the Dean’s List and graduating with Honors from Fairfield University. He began his career in public accounting in 1962, where with hard work and determination, he became managing partner of the well-established CPA firm, Gitlin, Campise and Prendergast, LLC. A strong believer in community service, he was a Rotarian for many years, a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award, and co-chair of the Geno Auriemma annual golf tournament, which helped to raise over $1.5 million for the Connecticut Children’s Hospital. In addition to time with his family, his career, and his many charitable contributions, Joe was a lover of golf, animals, music, and fast cars. Joe’s sparkly eyes and quick wit made him an easy friend to all that were fortunate enough to know him.
Joe is survived by his beloved partner and soulmate of nearly 20 years, Susan Arsenault. Along with Susan, he leaves his pride and joy, three sons; Craig Campise, his wife Rachael and her two sons, Cole and Jack, Curt Campise, his wife Tracey and Joe’s beautiful granddaughter Breann, Jon Campise and his partner Matt Peterson, Susan’s children, Ross Arsenault, his wife Melissa, and their children Payton and Cooper and Lee (Arsenault) Budington, her husband Dan, and their children Olivia, Faye, and Reid.
He also leaves his sisters, Mary Zdrojowy and her husband Michael, Ann Gutkowski and her husband Dave, his former brothers-in-law, Dennis Hofmann and Charles Lankford, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long childhood friends. Joe was predeceased by his beloved sister Cathy Hofmann-Lankford.
He will be missed.
A Memorial service will be held later in Simsbury CT. In lieu of Flowers a donation may be made in Joe’s memory to: Alzheimer’s Association | Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Help
