Obituary

Joseph Gorski passed away peacefully on May 2, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at Florida Hospital of New Smyrna Beach.  Joe came from a family of 11 siblings – Stasia, Stanley, Anna, Mike, Eddie, Irene, Walter, William, Mary, and Brenda. He graduated from Clinton High School and Worcester Boys Trade school where he became a licensed electrician, employed for 40 years in his trade.  He also proudly served in the US Navy for five years on air craft carrier USS Essex and USS Leyte. Joe was the community handyman and was never afraid to tackle a project.  He was an avid fisherman in all seasons in both Maine and Florida, but his favorite fishing trip was to Alaska. Joe loved spending time with his family including his two children, three grandchildren, and new great grandson who all fondly referred to him as “Puppie”. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Miriam Gorski; daughter Elaine and her husband James Lang; son Joseph Gorski Jr.; grandson Evan Gorski; granddaughters Kristen and her husband Sherwin Parkhurst and Kaitlyn Lang; great grandson Jackson Parkhurst; brothers Walter Gorski and William Gorski; sisters Mary Brennan and Brenda Gour. Family services will be at a later date.

There has never been nor will there ever be anyone quite like you, Puppie. You were everyone's favorite person to sit next to because you always had the best stories, funniest jokes, and a completely honest take on anything and everything. Yet, you still managed to somehow be the least judgemental person I've ever known. We have learned so much from you and are better people for having been a part of your family, those you loved most of all. Save me a seat next to you up there. Love you more than anything, forever and always, Your Kiki

Great family man, great brother-in-law and loyal friend. We could always depend on Joe to give us positive feedback on any issue!! Loved to fish and he was one of the best. Enjoyed our "political" discussions and he had wonderful "stories" to share. What a guy!! He will be missed by all who knew him.

We will all miss you Joe. You were a great husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. You always put a smile on everyone's face. You told it like it was. There was never a question on where you stood on a subject. I loved hearing you're old stories (again and again) when we were together. You were one of a kind.

The best dad there ever was who taught me to be strong and independent, how to use tools for all my projects and always supported my choices without judgement. I will think of you daily, pops, and cherish our memories forever.

A great guy and a great electrician who could solve any electrical issue that he encountered. Thank you for treating me like part of the "family" for all these years that we've known each other.
    Bon voyage.
"May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back."
