Obituary
Juan Citarella was born in Havana, Cuba on January 12, 1948 and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1960. Juan attended Briarcliff High School, where he was a standout basketball player, graduating in 1966. He went on to complete his collegiate degree from Georgia State, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. Post-graduation, he married his high school sweetheart, Teresa McCabe, in 1971. Juan and Teri had four lovely children, whom they raised in Lilburn and Snellville, Georgia and then in Longwood, Florida. Juan passed at home in Ponce Inlet, Florida on September 1, 2022.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Victor E. and Maya Citarella, and his brother, Victor J. Citarella. He leaves behind his wife of fifty-one years, Teri, his daughters Marti (Russell), Leslie, Traci (Lefever) and his son, Juan Antonio Citarella, Jr. (Tony), as well as sixteen adoring grandchildren. A private memorial service is being held to celebrate a life well lived. Juan will be missed dearly – he was a devoted family man who coached his children in every sport imaginable and loved spending time at his cabin in the woods and beachside in Ponce Inlet.
