Obituary
Judith “Judy” Mallory, age 77, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023 after a long illness. She was born on February 10, 1946, in Reno, PA, daughter of the late Jeanne & Hutch Osten. She graduated from Ashtabula High School and married her high school sweetheart. They built their first home next to his family farm and soon started their own family. Ohio was their home for many years until they finally took the leap to move to Englewood, FL in 1986. Over her lifetime, Judy was a hairdresser, ran a family owned campgrounds, and became a licensed Florida Realtor and a Certified Property Appraiser.
Judy is survived by the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Mallory, daughters Joyce (Lou) Doyle of Englewood, FL and Paula (Bart) Parker of West Palm Beach, FL; grandchildren Lewie (Courtney) Doyle of Port Charlotte, FL, Andy (Sarah) Doyle of Englewood, FL, Ryan Parker and Jill Parker both of West Palm Beach, FL; great-grandchildren Luke Doyle and Anna Doyle both of Englewood, FL; her brother Ken (Myrna) Osten, sister-in-law Penny Close, brother-in-law Perry (Audrey) Mallory; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Judy loved walking the beach searching for shark’s teeth. She never left without finding at least one. She loved music and dancing with her husband. She loved gardening and feeding all the birds and ducks that visited their home daily. She loved dogs, especially Dolly. And she loved spoiling her grandchildren any chance she got. She loved her family and friends more than anything in the world. All who are left behind grieve that she is gone but celebrate that she is now home with the Lord. Judy will always be remembered for her love of family, love for helping her community and church and for being TBT-Tiny But Tough.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 1:30pm in the Sanctuary at Englewood United Methodist Church, 700 E Dearborn St, Englewood, FL 34223. We will have a short memorial service, time for sharing your stories of Judy, and fellowship after.
The family would like to thank their family and friends for their support and prayers, and all who visited Judy during these difficult times. You all made her feel very loved. In lieu of flowers, donations to Englewood United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
We hope to see you soon.
Love and hugs to you all,
Barb and Tom
