Obituary
Judy G. Rushing of Ocala, Florida, passed away on November 7, 2019, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2019, at Friendship Baptist Church, Ocala, Florida. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 12, at 10:00 a.m., also at Friendship Baptist Church, with the Rev. Randy Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Baldwin Brothers Funeral Society.
Judy was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Allie and Sybil Christine (Grace) Wells on May 21, 1944. She attended school at Redford High School and then graduated from Bob Jones University, where she also met her husband. She married Daniel Warren Rushing, Sr., on June 18, 1965, in Allen Park, Michigan. She served as a schoolteacher for thirty-two years. In 2005, Dan and Judy moved to Ocala, Florida, after living in Milford, Ohio, for nineteen years.
Over the years, Judy served Christ and others alongside her husband in Puerto Rico, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Florida, and India. After moving to Florida, they enjoyed investing in the Lord’s people at Friendship Baptist as well as taking lengthy trips to India to assist with their daughter and son-in-law’s missionary work.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Sybil Wells; in-laws, James and Kathleen Rushing; and sister, Joyce Linehan.
Judy is survived by Dan, her husband of 54 years; their four children, Grace (Mike) Haydon, Joy Rushing, Dan (Anjanette) Rushing, Jr., and Faith (Chad) Mann; sixteen grandchildren, Courtney (Terrell), David (Kassie), Alex, Sarah (Jasper), Levi, Whitley, Bryce, D.W., Caleb, Brianna, Phinehas, Nathanael, Ian, Marianna, Evan, and Christopher; and three great-grandchildren, Aaleyah, Elijah, and Ellianna.
Memorials may be given to the Friendship Baptist Church Missions Fund.
