Obituary
Born in Mainz, Germany to parents Werner & Katherina , he resided there until 1991 when he and his late wife Gudrun came to start a new life in America. Juergen loved his new country, self taught his new language and held the American flag dear to his heart. Up to the time of his passing, Juergen was an electrical superintendent with Doyle Electrics working in the Lee County hospitals.
In 2015 he met his Jersey Girl and love of his life, Madeline Russo-Rochelle and they embarked on a whirlwind courtship that took them traveling to Europe, Colorado, Mid west and New Jersey & NYC. He especially enjoyed his Jersey Shore trips sent with his new family and a good pork roll sandwich. In 2017 they purchased a home in North Port and married in 2018. Juergen enjoyed riding his Indian Motorcycle with his friends and was involved in a riding group out of Fort Myers. A Tampa Bay Lightning sports enthusiast, Juergen could be seen in Bolts gear and making so many purchases for his wife and friends. He loved playoff games at the arena. He enjoyed boating and fishing with “Captain Rafa” and enjoyed visits and Gaspirilla with Michele Grigoletto Nappi.
“J” was unique in his ability to be joyful in others silliness, in others successes, in others love. He was so comfortable in his own skin, he could celebrate others without envy. He enjoyed every day of his life through appreciating the little things whether it was a project at home, putzing around his garage, going to dinner with his wife and close friends, J lived every single moment to the fullest. A rare person with no ego, no drama, just love. He is now at rest and likely installing God’s ceiling fans.
He leaves to mourn him his devoted wife and soul mate Madeline Russo Rochelle. His loving sister Linda and husband Norbert of Germany; brother Roland and Dany of Germany; his brother Werner and wife Nina of Port Charlotte, Fl, Sister Ursula and Bill Love of Port Byron, Illinois. He was also predeceased by his brother Peter. His step daughters Stephanie (David) of Point Pleasant, NJ and Christine & Patrick of Wall, NJ. He was “HOHO” to the light of his lives Kayla, Madison and Anthony. His brother in law Ralph Russo and wife Lisa of Apollo Beach, Fl. Juergen also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, heartbroken friends and co workers.
All arrangements are private and made through the Baldwin Brothers of Port Charlotte. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory made to Tidewell Hospice 5955 Rand Blvd. Sarasota, Fl. 34238. The nurses, staff and Dr. Ray provided so much comfort to him and Madeline in his final days.
Und immer sind und bleiben Spuren Deines Lebens .Festhalten was man nicht halten kann, begreifen wollen was unbegreiflich ist. Wir werden dich nie vergessen .Mein Großer Bruder in Love Linda u. Nobert
On our initial meeting I got the opportunity to speak with you at length and I remember telling Madeline, "he's a keeper!". Some of the best advice I've ever given.
Although I only had the good fortune to know you a short time, this is what I came to learn about you.
You were:
- grateful
- generous of spirit
- hard working
- happy
- always willing to lend a helping hand
- inquisitive
- egoless
- fair
- kind
- a problem solver
- an optimist
- a good husband, brother, neighbor and friend
- loving
- open hearted
- brave
- strong
The list could go on... you were one in a million. But, the thing I admired most about you was how you loved my friend and how happy you made her.
I wish I could have spent more time on this earth with you, your time was to short. But, I am so grateful you were in our lives.
See you soon good friend

Jürgen visited us at our vacation home in Cape Coral in Sep. 2012.
He was very proud to show us his bike!
Jürgen leaves a great void with me and I will miss him.
Jürgen Wittmann with Gaby and Engelbert We meet us 2016 at Gulfport-St. Petersburg
We like to think back to Jürgen. If it was possible at all, we visited each other when we were on vacation in Florida. We remember his friendly manner and his laughter. We'll miss him.

Thanksgiving day! What an amazing man and couple. Juergen was a generous and kind man and truly funny. We will miss his laughter, stories and spirit at our gatherings but know he is at peace. God speed Juergen. ❤️❤️
