Obituary
Julius Ambrose Collins, age 91, rested in peace with God on, July 4th, 2021, in Ocala, Florida. Born in Graham, Texas on July 15, 1929 he leaves his loving wife, Peggy Ann Mixon Singer Collins, of Ocklawaha, FL; son, Dr. William Bill Singer, of Orlando, FL; brothers, Charles Collins, of Avon Park, FL, and B.J. Collins, of Inverness, FL; sister, Lilie Mae Wynn, of Avon Park, FL.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jewel McClure, brothers, Jack Collins, Sr, and Leslie Collins, his parents, Della and Jack Collins, all of Avon Park, FL.
Julius graduated from High School in Avon Park where he enjoyed playing defense in football. He was in the Army for 2 years and graduated from The University of Florida as a Civil Engineer. He was a big Gator fan. Julius worked as a civil engineer and had an office at Florida State Engineers until working from home. He worked mostly in Marion County, 70 years, with many contractors. Many designs were Handmade Designs until 2020.
He married Peggy in 1975 and acquired a son, Dr. Bill Singer, and also many nieces and nephews; grandchildren and sister in-law Elna Collins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Silver Springs Shores Presbyterian Church, located at 674 Silver Road, Ocala, FL. Rev. Alan Cummings will be officiating. Nephew, Jack Collins, Jr. from GA will be singing and praying.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in his memory to Silver Springs Shores Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Marion County.
