Obituary

Karen Ann Ferguson, 76, passed away on May 18, 2023 in Fruitland Park, Florida.

Born on December 28, 1946 she was preceded in death by her parents Earl Elwyn Ferguson from Ohio, and Wanda Eulalia Rook Ferguson from Texas; and brother Donald Earl Ferguson from New Jersey.

She is survived by her sister Gail Ferguson Sheridan; and brother-in-law Larry E. Sheridan of The Villages Florida; niece Kylle Sheridan Hardzog; and nephew David Hardzog both in Riverside, Wyoming; and niece Alysha Ferguson Pickard in Seattle, Washington.

Karen was a talented piano player.  In high school she was a member of the marching band playing a glockenspiel.  After graduating from Boulder High School in Colorado in 1964, Karen went on to matriculate from the University of Texas Austin Medical School.  As an M.D. she enjoyed a long and satisfying career as an OBGYN, delivering some 5,000 babies over 30 years.  During her retirement, she loved her many gardens, house plants, horses and dogs.

Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont, Colorado.  In accord with her wishes, no memorial services will be held.  Donations in remembrance may be made in her name to the Florida Suicide Prevention Coalition at floridasuicideprevention.org.  Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449.  Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com
