Obituary
Kari Jo Curda (Swedberg) of Clearwater, Florida, went home to be with Jesus on March 3rd, after a short battle with leukemia. Kari was born on March 30, 1962, to Jerry and Jan Swedberg of New Hope, Minnesota. Kari was kind and creative, had a great sense of humor, a sunny disposition and one of her best qualities was her loving and generous heart. She loved her family and friends more than anything and will be missed by all.
Kari graduated from Armstrong High School in the Robbinsdale School District of Minnesota and was loved by many of her fellow classmates. Kari attended college at Bemidji State University in Minnesota where she met her husband Michael. She graduated from USF in Tampa, Florida where she achieved her bachelor and master degrees in education. Kari was a dedicated Kindergarten and Pre-K teacher in the Pinellas County School District for 28 years.
Kari’s favorite place was at her family’s cabin in Minnesota where she spent time each summer. She also enjoyed sunny, beautiful Florida. She was looking forward to retirement and traveling with Mike.
Kari is survived by her husband, Michael Curda of Clearwater, Fl; parents Jerry and Jan Swedberg of the Villages, Fl; siblings Karl Swedberg of Jacksonville, Fl and Amy Saviage (Dave) of San Marcos, Ca; daughter Jamie Lee of Tampa, Fl and son Kyle Curda (Jamie Suzanne) and grandchildren Kyleigh (10), Payton (8), and Carson (7) of Clearwater, Fl.
A celebration of life will be held on March 23 at 2 pm at North Bay Community Church located at 3170 McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater, Florida. Visitation will occur before and after the service. Arrangements are through Baldwincremation.com in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
