Obituary

Kay Patricia Hutchins, 77, of Ocala, Florida passed away on July 1, 2019 at the Hospice of Marion County – Legacy House. She was born on April 20, 1942 in Watertown, New York to the late Ross and Charlotte (Hamilton) Charlton of Canada. Kay was an accountant for 32 years at the Research Foundation of the State University of New York. Kay was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed reading, ceramics, card games, collecting porcelain birds, card making, creating beaded jewelry, and traveling with her husband Richard. Predeceased by her son, Richard C. Hutchins Jr., sister Elizabeth Dietrich, and sister Irene Majo. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Richard C. Hutchins, Sr. of Ocala, Florida, her daughter, Deborah (Jeffery) Staples of Victor, New York, her brother, Edward (Elaine) Charlton of Evans Mills, New York, her grandchildren Michael (Lindsey) Wegner, Andrew Wegner, Mathew Staples, and Elizabeth (Richard) Lynch, in addition to her several nieces and nephews. Kay’s family greatly appreciates all of the thoughts, prayers, cards and acts of kindness they have
received over the past three months.  The family will celebrate her life with a service at the Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, 49 Jordan Street, Skaneateles, New York on Saturday, August 10 at 10:30 a.m. Kay will be buried with her son Rick in the Lake View Cemetery in Skaneateles, New York.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Kay can be made to the Hospice of Marion County – Legacy House, 9505 SW 110th Street, Ocala, Florida 34481.

    Kay was such a dear friend. We had such fun learning to play bridge. And then playing bridge with Cathy and Rhea, was so much fun. Kay was so full of life, funny stories and just a good friend. I miss her.

    Kay was the sister I never had, we were cousins but shared so many memories. I will miss talking to her when she would call "just because" Love and peace
