Obituary

Kenneth Ray Beachy, of Weirsdale, Florida, passed away on March 29, 2024 at the age of 71. Ken was born on June 12, 1952, to his parents, Raymond and Emma Beachy in Canton, Ohio. Ken was a devout Christian, avid fisherman and hunter, and big sports fan. He learned the masonry craft and business from his father and was employed as a skilled mason for many years, both in Sarasota and Weirsdale. Ken later worked for 15+ years as a correctional officer with the Florida Department of Corrections. His family and friends will always remember him as a hardworking man who loved his family and God. He came from a large family, having 20+ aunts and uncles and many first cousins, and loved attending family gatherings, reunions, and frying fish for visiting family and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Jody Cooper Beachy.

He is survived by his children, Noah Beachy, Rebecca Beachy, Charlee (Stephen) Mullen, and Charles Cagle; and granddaughters, Emma Beachy, Alexis Lyle, and Hailey Cagle. He is also survived by his siblings, Marilyn (Norman) Linder, Barbara Boggs, and Scott (Jodi) Beachy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Weirsdale with Rick Beachy officiating. The family would like to thank all the compassionate healthcare workers that cared for and supported Ken in the final year of his life. I was in Ken's class at Central Christian High School, class if 1970. At our last Class reunion, ken chatted with me for quite awhile. Warmed my heart. I'm sad that we've lost another classmate, but am comforted knowing we will have a FOREVER REUNION in heaven. Asking the Lord to comfort his loved ones.
