Obituary
Jean Martin Whittington of Edgewater, Florida, a loving Mother and Friend was born on July 2, 1945, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016, following a very brief battle with ovarian cancer. She departed this life as she lived it, with an enormous amount of grace and dignity. She showed beauty and her humbling nature while giving comfort to those by her side. Survived by her loving son Gary Whittington, wife Jenny, her devoted niece Raina Bauman and Partner James Blake, her sister Sandra Bauman and nephew Jared Bauman, her longtime friends Linda Chastain, Jack and Judy Weber as well as her Aunt Jenny. She will be greatly missed by her family in England, extended family in Richland VA, and her many friends across the country. Jean touched many lives , including her colleagues at Antietam Elementary and her Boat Club family, as well as the women at Title Boxing in Port Orange, Florida where she boxed weekly. As well as boxing she frequently traveled around the country and to Europe to be with family. Jean touched the lives of many and her legacy and selfless nature is a beautiful reminder of how to live our lives. She leaves behind a life and legacy to be cherished and remembered.
