Obituary

Larry Donald Steponik, 70, of Cape Coral, FL passed away on November 19, 2017 at the Hope Hospice Cape Coral. He was born on November 8, 1947 in Chicago, IL to the late Peter and Mary (Bochenek) Steponik. Larry was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict, where he was awarded two Purple Hearts. He was a graduate of Chicago State University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. Larry worked as a Service Officer for the D.A.V. He moved to this area in 2011, coming from Darien, IL. Larry was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He volunteered for the VA, and was active with the Wounded Warriors Angler Club and especially loved fishing with his grandchildren. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Mary Wiertelak; his children, Larry (Shelly), April-Lyn, Carrie (Vince) and Denise; his grandchildren Mason, Miranda, Dominic, Isabella and PJ.  He will be dearly missed.
