Obituary

Lawrence “Larry” Wright Ashton, Jr., of Ocala, Florida was called home
on March 26, 2024.

Larry was born on February 26, 1950 to Lawrence W. Ashton Sr. and Mary
Jane Clarke in Boston, MA. He graduated from Eastern University with a
degree in Business. He was married to his wife, Joan Elizabeth Kelley
for 45 loving years.

Larry and Joan’s hearts and hands were full with four wonderful
children, Kelley Pidhirsky (Steve), Tracy Ashton (Ethan), Lawrence
Ashton III (Lauren) and Amy Simpson (Kyle). One of his proudest
accomplishments were his nine sweet grandchildren, Bailey, Mason,
Luke, Riley, Charlotte, Harrison, Matthew, Eleanor and McKenzie.
Larry’s favorite moments were when his kids were all together.

Larry served our country in the Navy. Both his love of music and
musical talent allowed him to be a member of the Navy Show Band. Larry
was a Mason and a long-time active member of the American Legion. He
was a proud member of the Sons of American Revolution.

In his free time, Larry loved being with friends, walking his dog or
driving around in his golf cart. He enjoyed being the life of the
party and could sell ice to an Eskimo.

Larry will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

Dearest Brother, it hurts us knowing you have been suffering. Now, knowing that you are safe in God’s arms with Mom and Dad beside you gives my family and me great solace. We are hoping, since God gave you great musical talent, that there is an accordion there so you can entertain everyone! We love you.

Since God gave you remarkable musical talent, perhaps there is an accordion there so you can entertain everyone! With love, Donna,Bill, Brandon,Ashton,Tayloe and Carson.
