Obituary
We are disheartened to inform you of the passing of Leon Elwin Dorris, aged 69 years,
born on the 20th day of November, in the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-three.
Leon thrived thru hardships that come with life head-on without fear of an end but more
impassioned by the journey. Through his Journey he showed us his compassion, his
commitment to his family and the ones he loved, MAY NO MORE OF A HUMBLE MAN
RISE TO THE HEAVENS, HE Shall be MISSED.
Leon was husband to the late Jonie Louise Dorris, father to Rebecca Dorris, Mike and Tommie Steinger, Kenneth Hutsell, Andrew W. Hustell ,Jr. Brother to Kathleen/(Kirk) Englin, James/(Louise) Dorris. He was also a Grandfather to Ryleigh 8, Jameson 13, Etta 17, Andrew Griffin 16, survived by Mother-in-law Verda and Ken (passed) Martin.
Leaves behind as well: Niece Sara (Rob) McLain, Nephew Bryce (Lyn), Niece Chris Baldwin and many great nieces and nephews.
Leon was a Member of Plumbers Union Local 130 for over 30 years, Master Mason (lodge 102), Volunteer Firefighter, and Boy Scout Scoutmaster. He enjoyed John Wayne movies in his favorite chair, target shooting, bowing, golfing, and was a Rays fan. He enjoyed many travels throughout the world and spent the occasional time at the slots. Leon was loved and admired for his kindness, strength, and unwavering willpower to grow, always being an inspiration to us all. The world shall miss his loving strength.
The Dorris Family will receive friends and the community from 4:00p.m.-6:00p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the Baldwin Brother’s TimberRidge Chapel. Leon Dorris final resting will be 11:00a.m. Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Dr. Philip’s Cemetery in Orlando, FL.

I was beyond blessed to have Leon as my dad he was always there to help me. I will always remember all the good times we had. He was an amazing Grandpa to Andrew and I'll forever be grateful for the time they had together.
God Bless and is with the family through this difficult time. And Leon is with God!
