Obituary

Linda D. Bowman (December 31, 1942 – April 22, 2024)

Linda Dianne Harville was born in Chicago to John Frederick Harville and Geneva Faye Gardiner. Her first marriage to Robert D. Carrier produced one son, Michael Scott, born in 1967. In 1970, she and Michael moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where she later met and married Clarence Eugene Bowman. In 1982, Clarence was relocated through IBM to Austin, Texas, where they lived for 13 years before moving to Summerfield. Clarence passed away in July of 2006.

Linda worked as an editorial assistant and real estate agent before retiring upon her move to Florida. She volunteered for several non-profit causes, finally concentrating on Operation Shoebox, to which she devoted 20 years. A lifetime avid gardener, she also provided private landscaping in her later years to many homes throughout The Villages and surrounding communities. A sign in her own home stated “To Cultivate A Garden Is To Walk With God”.

Survivors include son Michael and partner Lisa in Texas, stepson Michael Bowman and wife Cheryl in South Carolina, grand-daughter Jillian Bromberg and two great grandchildren, Nikolai and Rosie (also in South Carolina), brother John S. Harville and wife Cyndi in Michigan, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Linda was above all a caring and beautiful soul who will be deeply missed on this earth.

Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449. Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com.

Sorry to read about your passing. You will be missed. I remember when we were in the same Bible study group. And also that you used to weed others gardens when they were unable to! Sweet lady with a husky voice

My sweet Linda Lou not your middle name but a nickname I gave you which made you smile. I will miss you so much I already do! It's not the same now without you there. You were so devoted to helping our troops and worked so hard to make sure every task you had that it was done with love and perfection for them. I wish we had more time but I had 20 good years with you! I wish you were still here but I know you're in a better place. Love you Linda Lou till I see you again! Mary
