Obituary
L.B. Bishop, 92, a resident of Daytona Beach Shores, passed away at his home on August 10, 2018. He was born August 31, 1925 at Blytheville, Arkansas to the late Mary Leona Tatum and Locie Blanchard Bishop. He was a beloved husband and father, and will be deeply missed by his wife, Lynn, and his children, Donna, Ray, Christina, and cat, Martin. The children’s Mother, Ruth, passed away in 1991. L.B. served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and the Korean War. With the GI Bill he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Retailing from Boston University. He had a successful career with the F. W. Woolworth Company. After 33 years, he retired in 1983 as Director of Store Development. He and Lynn made the most of their retirement enjoying worldwide travel. L.B. was a familiar and respected figure in Daytona Beach Shores for 23 years. For his children, he was an endless source of information, wisdom, love, and humor. His many friends will sorely miss his quick wit, his intelligence, his kindness, and strength. A Celebration of Life will be held at Cloverleaf North’s Social Room on Friday, August 24th from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his honor and memory be made to the Halifax Humane Society, 2364 LPGA Blvd., Daytona Beach, 32124.
